1965
Young Life begins in Central Florida
Central Florida Young Life began its ministry in 1965 when it hired Bob Stevens as its first Area Director for Orlando. Bob began ministries at Winter Park High School and Edgewater High School. By 1971, ministry had spread into Seminole County as well as beginning inner city ministry in downtown Orlando, and a few years later began ministry on the coast in Melbourne.

KIDS KNOWN BY NAME
Since 1941, Young Life leaders have walked with kids and earned the right to be heard in a both exciting and exhausting world. Over 3,000 kids are reached every month in Central Florida, and the number continues to grow. On average, more than 1,350 Central Florida students attend a Young Life event/meeting on a regular basis.

COUNTIES WITH YOUNG LIFE Ministry
Today, Young Life is a global organization with a local focus. Four counties in Central Florida operate 20+ programs each month. Our 3 year vision is to both increase the number of active programs/ministries in the current areas as well as expanding to new counties.

Camp attendees
In the last 12 months, Central Florida area staff and leaders took almost 1,000 kids to camp. Whether at a school-year weekend retreat or a week-long summer camp, kids of all backgrounds heard the Good News of Christ while making lasting memories with their friends.
